How do I get an estimate?

  • Feel free to call and discuss your move with one of the owners or send us your information via email so we can accurately assess your moving project. We are more than happy to conduct a safe, in-person assessment, or, even through FaceTime or Zoom!

Is Mint Moving licensed and insured?

  • Yes, Mint Moving LLC is fully licensed and insured and we offer, as a supplement, additional insurance during moving jobs.

How prepared do I need to be on move day?

  • Since our pricing is time-based, your level of preparedness can help you save money on moving day. Boxing small or “loose” items (lamps, pictures, general decor, etc.) can make packing the moving truck a much more efficient and time-saving process. Staging boxes and small items closer to the door the movers will be coming in and out of can also make a BIG difference in the amount of time your move takes.  If you don’t have the time for the prep work, we have you covered with our packing services!


How far in advance should I start looking for movers?

  • We recommend booking your movers at least 2 months in advance to secure your ideal date. However, we know that life happens fast. If you are in need of relocation services on short notice, give us a call to see how we can help.


What happens if an item is broken during my move?

  • The state of Minnesota requires that all clients choose an insurance option before we begin your move. In the event that an accident occurs and an item is damaged we will have you covered with one of our three insurance options. We will discuss this before your move and give you time to select the most suitable option. If you are packing your own items, we highly recommend using some sort of padding or protection when packing. Things can break easily (chinaware, dishes, artwork, decor, etc.) and labeling those things so the movers are aware is very helpful - especially if it is fragile cargo.


Can you move me to a different state?

  • Mint Moving is currently an intrastate moving company, meaning we are only allowed to operate within the state of Minnesota. We may still be able to help with our loading only service!


Will any other charges be added after I receive my estimate?

  • We never surprise our clients with additional charges as we pride ourselves on our transparent pricing. Everything will be discussed prior to moving day!  We are a time-based service and will only charge for the time it takes to complete your move. 


Will I have to pay a deposit to secure my move?

  • We have no deposit fees at this time. We only ask that you keep us up to date with any changes about your moving project.


Do you have any tips for moving day?

  • We are all about planning ahead! Anything you can do to help WILL help. This may be as simple as boxing up all loose items, disassembling/assembling bed frames, and labeling where items will end up on the destination side, We also recommend keeping your pets and small children in a safe place away from the busy moving (we will be happy to say “Hi!” to them before or after the move though!)


Do you offer a 1-hour minimum?

  • Yes! Most companies require at least a 3-hour minimum price to come out and help out with your project, even if it is as simple as moving a few pieces of furniture around your home or getting furniture delivered/removed. This could result in you paying $400 for something that can be done in 20 minutes. We are not one of those companies. We pride ourselves on being flexible with client’s needs and offering alternatives to the industry standard.


Why should I choose Mint Moving over other moving companies?

  • At the end of the day, we understand that you need to do what is best for you and the people who depend on you. If that means going in a direction other than our company, we understand. What we can promise you, though, is that we will be upfront, communicative, and honest in how we come up with your estimate, and we will provide you with as much information as we can from our years of experience in the industry (over 3,000 moves collectively) in order to help you make the most informed decision you can. We will not surprise you with hidden charges on moving day, something that many companies in the industry unfortunately do. We treat our client’s as if we are moving our family. If you go with Mint Moving,  then you are part of the Mint Family!

Is there anything your company CAN’T move?

  • As required by Minnesota state law, we are unable to move cleaning products, liquor, propane, or anything that can be potentially flammable.  Also, if you are looking to move an especially large item such as a grand piano or hot tub, we would be happy to refer you to local companies that specialize in large-item moving to help you out with these types of projects.
